BioJVAtm Joint Vibrational Analysis (JVA)

JVA provides a, non-invasive, and repeatable measurement of  the Jaw Joint (TMJ) function to aid us in your diagnosis of TMJ function. Understanding TMJ function is vital anytime changing is required for the vertical, lateral, or horizontal  position of the lower jaw (mandible). Common treatments that change lower jaw position such as TMJ treatment, Orthodontics, Crowns, Bridges, Dentures, Reconstruction and Sleep Dentistry can all benefit from JVA testing.

A very simple principle
Bio-JVA Joint Vibration Analysis is based on simple principles of motion and friction: When smooth surfaces rub together, little friction is created...and little vibration. If these surfaces become rough, then friction and vibration are created when these surfaces articulate

How it works
Human joints have surfaces which rub together in function. Smooth, well lubricated surfaces in a proper biomechanical relationship produce little friction and little vibration. But surface changes, such as those caused by degeneration, tears, or displacements of the disk, generally produce friction and vibration. Different disorders can produce different vibration patterns or "signatures". PC-assisted vibration analysis helps identify these patterns and helps you distinguish among various TM disorders.

A JVA recording only takes a small amount of patient time.  Now, patients can benefit from, accurate, repeatable data with a non-invasive and time-efficient procedure.

The Interpretation of the datat is done by the Doctor and takes skill and study to master. Dr. Stevens has taken n in-depth education on JVA interpretation.

Electronic Muscle Graphing (EMG - Electromyography)

EMG is the only way to objectively measure the actions and reactions of the muscles of the head and neck. This provides Doctors the abiltiy to accurately test his treatment and bite postitions before finalizing the treatment position. With BioEMG II we could give up "GUESSING" bout our patients final dental outcome. We stopped guessing if the  bite was right for our patients muscles, after  restoring teeth with crowns, fillings, bridges, dentures, etc. We could predictably eliminate joints locking from muscle spasm, with objectively testing with the BioEMG system.

State of the art design

The all-new JT-3D was researched & developed to uphold an all-new standard in mandibular kinesiology. It started with the new FGM* Sensors perfected by BioRESEARCH engineering department. Lightweight aerospace materials and both mechanical and electrical computer aided design have perfected this precision instrument. Our research and development efforts serve to ensure that each of the all-new JT-3D's revolutionary components meld into a sleek and singular mechanism.

How does it work?
The all-new JT-3D records incisor-point movements in three dimensions. A small magnet, attached to the labial surfaces of the mandibular incisors, is tracked by an array of sensors to produce vertical, antero-posterior and lateral components of movement. It mounts simply, yet securely on the head, and provides an incredibly stable base for the sensors. This provides spectacular resolution even on the smallest of mandibular movements.

FGM sensors provide a quantum leap in accuracy.
BioRESEARCH is the first and only company to have perfected the FGM* sensors into its jaw tracking system. FGM technology has improved the direct linear range of the JT-3D jaw tracker by as much as 50% over jaw trackers using the old Hall Effect sensor technology.

The JT-3D's all-new mounting system creates a quick and easy set up with proper weight distribution and a stable base with absolutely no contact with the patients face! The eyes, nose and mouth of your patient are free of claustrophobic obstructions and completely accessible to the clinician.
